Literally just arrived on DVD and I watched it straight away. Different from what I expected but good, very very good. What did everybody else think of the movie?
In the country dead bodies live in swamps and ditches and shallow graves. A man dumps the body of a girl in a ditch. The body rotts melts into slime. Flowers pop up where the body lies, seeds fly out of the flowers and a bee sucks the flowers and makes honey. Then the family of the girl buys the honey from the store. And the family eats the girl.

I really enjoyed it, it just seems like it was a very engaging movie and well worth the money I put towards it.

Quality film, interesting company putting it for sale; everything about the presentation of it, plus the presentation of the film itself thanks to the actors made it a very enjoyable couple of hours for me.
I've always been fond of pages, the bibliophile that I am; Ellen's simply another Page, albeit of a more fascinating novel - one of the better stories in the many of my life.

Nice find Jim. Also, if you want to watch it on your TV and have a capable device, you can stream it from Netflix.

What is your point: Again gays in american film ? :uhoh: Wilby Wonderful is a Canadian film.

x-must, I think you should explain what you mean by that comment.

Personally, I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you meant nothing bad by it. I hope I am right.

That's right.

"Wilby Wonderful" is a b-movie.

My rate - 5.5/10

I'm pretty sure he uses a translator for his English so there are bumps here and there, I don't think he meant anything sinister.

Still x-must I'm a bit confused, what were you trying to say?

Being a Canadian movie means it was made for very little money and had to rely heavily on the story. It is set in a tiny isolated island community and highlights the local values and actions for it's drama and comedy. I think it has to be appreciated for the acting and story alone because it is not a big budget "American" movie. The themes it looks at may seem quaint to people who live in big cities but were/are relevant to the isolated village where the movie is set.

Also, can anyone confirm this or am I just being silly; A lot of the exterior shots (particularly of the bridge) looked very similar to some used in Marion Bridge. Were they shot in the same location?

I checked IMDB (I know :totallysick: ) and it has "Wilby Wonderful" shot in Shelburne (southern Nova Scotia) and "Marion Bridge" shot in Halifax. Other than that we probably need someone with inside information to answer the question, as Nova Scotia is covered with that type of bridge.

I'm not really a big fan of Wilby Wonderful either. Its one of those movies that I watched once and probably won't again. Not a bad movie, just not my cup o' tea.

I can see why people wouldn't like it all that much it seems like it'd be a bit of a polarizer. Personally I love it, it's one of my favorite Ellen movies.

Okay the use of the word "gays" threw us off we just weren't quite sure where it was coming from and it seemed like it could be slanderous.
