Ellen Page and Alia Shawkat are interviewed in the October/November 2009 issue of Bust. Both girls are also on the cover.

Thanks for posting Dom :D

There was a small pic of her and Drew (from the WI premiere) in a magazine I bought yesty but Australia hasn't seemed to cotton on to EP yet as they never seem to mention her :whatever: We are a little slow over here though :rolleye:  (Hmm, I just left myself wide open on that one  )

I guess so UCF  We have a chain of stores called "Cotton On" and I'm positive it's derived from that saying

Ok, I'm really back on topic now... I'll have to be on the look out for the young girly magazines here to see if EP is featured in any :)

Hmmm that sounds dodgy but you know what I mean... I think.

OH MY! :D Awesome article....

Got a chance to read the article in a bookstore, as the new edition just came out....wow, this may be Ellen's best interview yet. Just so fun, and a bit revealing! Alia is totally funny (as Ellen mentioned previously)...

Alia: I once got a B in French and started crying...then I started smoking marijuana and stopped caring so much... :D

There are other great tidbits...but some of it is definitely R-rated :D Its an article best not read by the youngest EPO fans.

Here are a few quotes and new photos from this issue. Scans are coming soon!

Advice for misfit high schoolers:

Alia: That you’re cool. High school has nothing to do with real life.
Ellen: I know it sounds cheesy, but be yourself. If you don’t like French new wave movies you don’t have to pretend like you do.

On sexiness:

Ellen: It’s about openness and being honest and feeling good in your skin. To me that’s sexy. I don’t feel pressure to look that way. But sometimes I feel weird pressure, because if you’re not that kind of sexy, then that means you don’t want the boy to kiss you because you’re not wearing the thing for that boy. But then, I know a lot of guys who don’t find that sexy.

Do they consider themselves feminists?

Ellen: Yeah, sure, of course, definitely. Wouldn’t you think everybody would be a feminist? It’s annoying there has to be a label for something like that. Ultimately, I’m a humanist. But if someone asks it as a yes-or-no question, I’d have to say obviously. I hope that everyone would be.

The biggest issues young women are dealing with today:

Ellen: I think absolute media saturation is just horrifying. Making young girls feel like they’re not good enough to propel them to consume more is so sad. You see girls who just don’t like themselves or feel like they need to be prettier or skinnier.
There's nothing to fear, nothing to doubt.
Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

Dominik, you just brought a huge smile to my face when you quoted the great Patrick Stewart from that Next Generation episode. I had no idea you were a trekkie man.

Those are the mild quotes from the article, Dominik. The full article is "ahem" a bit more risque

It really is. It actually sort of surprised me, but the article was great.

...Still, I didn't need to know some things about Alia, but now I do, thanks to this.
I was expecting Ellen to be as open as she was. I love the honesty in her interviews though.

Unfortunately, I understood a lot of what they were talking about, even with barely being a freshman in high school. Some of the things they discussed are just a part of teenage common knowledge around here though :/

Apparently, Ellen doesn't think of Miley Cyrus as a "slut." At least Miley has some good support.

I feel for you Angie. Bookstores near my area never have the magazines I want. :sweating2: Especially if they have famous people on the cover.

Edit: Thanks, Dom! :D

@ angie & Laura

If you don't have any luck at your local bookstore or newsstand, I would simply order a single copy in The BUST Boobtique :yellowink:
