So, apparently, according to David Slade, there is a subliminal shot in the scene where Hayley is stripping on the couch. Does anyone know what it is? Or does anyone know a way to watch a movie frame-by-frame. I'm really curious, now!

I think this is possible with nearly every Software DVD-Player like WinDVD or PowerDVD. If you don't have either one of them, you can alternatively try the freeware "Media Player Classic" which allows to watch a movie frame-by-frame (but only forward and not backward ).

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is a "Subliminal Shot"? Can anyone give me the exact definition?

I'm not sure of the exact definition, Dominik. I'm positive my DVD player has the feature, but I can't find it. I can see it at 1/8 speed, though. maybe that will help.

I dont think "subliminal shot" is a technical term, i think it's something David Slade made up.

My dictionary says sublimnal means existing or functioning below the threshold of consciousness. So it's some footage that people arent going to consciously notice.

If the actors didnt know about the shot, that makes it even more subliminal!

David Slade didn't make up the term, it's been around for years. It was traditionally a single frame inserted into the film often for advertising. The porn shot that Tyler Durden puts in at the cinema in Fight Club is a subliminal shot.
